Chairmen of the Federative Research Institutes and of the University scientific councils are members of the Doctoral School council and help define the scientific policy of the Doctoral School.
A summary of research topics of affiliated research teams can be found here. Doctorate students conduct a structured research project under the supervision of a senior scientist.
As a rule, a senior scientist habilitated to supervise research can be allowed to supervise only one doctoral student, in order to foster close interaction between students and faculty.
Doctoral work in collaboration between two Research units (one or both affiliated with the Doctoral School) may be supervised jointly by two research supervisors, one in each Research unit.
